Blockchain jobs are on the rise in 2019
Jobs in the field of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology are on the rise, according to Indeed, a leading list platform and job search engine. The company analyzed millions of jobs published on Indeed.com to determine the current state of the crypto employment market in the United States. The results were published on Thursday in the company’s technology area contracting platform, Seen de Indeed.
“According to Indeed.com, in the four-year period between September 2015 and September 2019, the percentage of these jobs per million increased by 1,457%. In the same period, the percentage of searches per million increased ‘only’ 469%, ‘says a blog post on the Seen de Indeed website. If only last year’s data is looked at, crypto employment lists grew by 26% while searches decreased by 53%.
The largest increase in the number of job publications was between 2017 and 2018 while the number of job searches increased more between 2016 and 2017. This year, the number of crypto-employment searches decreased for the first time. The company also revealed that the top five technology jobs in the industry are software engineers, experienced software engineers, software architects, full stack developers and front end developers .

At the time of this publication, there are 1,090 jobs specifically related to crypto assets, 293 in Bitcoin, and more than 2000 related to blockchain listed on Indeed.com. In addition, 116 lists specifically mention smart contracts and 64 refer to distributed ledger technology. While most are full-time jobs, there are also part-time, contracts, internships, commissions, and temporary jobs.
Employers with more crypto-related jobs listed include Cisco, IBM, Collins Aerospace, Deloitte, Amazon.com, Accenture, Coinbase, Ripple, EY, Gemini Trust, Facebook, General Dynamics Information Technology, Lockheed Martin Corp., Overstock. com, and JPMorgan Chase.
Companies seeking to fill job vacancies specifically in cryptocurrencies include Coinbase, 72 jobs; Gemini Trust, 43 jobs; Gemini, 36 jobs; Praetorian, 28 jobs; Revolut, 26 jobs; Facebook, 25 jobs; Kraken, 24 jobs; JPMorgan Chase, 24 jobs; Cyphertrace, 19 jobs; Binance, 14 jobs; Chainanalysis, 11 jobs; Paxful, 10 jobs; Bakkt, 8 jobs; and Huobi, 8 jobs. Salaries vary by employer and by job. Revolut’s work on Indeed.com starts at $ 63,600, at Gemini Trust and Gemini at $ 68,000, Praetorian $ 84,100, and Coinbase $ 71,100.
