Amazon AWS is investing $100 million in a generative AI hub in the race to keep up with Microsoft and Google

The Amazon AWS Unit said on Thursday that it is allocating $100 million for a center to help companies use generative artificial intelligence. This technology has taken off in the months since OpenAI released its ChatGPT chatbot to the public.

That’s a small investment for a company with $64 billion in cash and half a trillion dollars a year in operating expenses. But the announcement shows that Amazon Web Services recognizes the importance of the current moment in generative AI and the importance of being in the conversation, along with rivals.
